How do I program a button on my phone to transfer a caller directly to an extension mailbox?
When you are on a line with an outside party, you can send them directly to a mailbox. Press the VTR button, dial the extension number and hang up or if you have a DSS/BLF button programmed for the person, press VTR, the button and hang up. The outside person will go directly to the mailbox without the phone ringing. Not sure which system you have, click here. If you do not have a VTR key, press TRANSFER, dial the voice mail extension (or press the Voice Mail button if you have one programmed), press POUND 6, dial the mailbox number and hang up.
NOTE: This feature is for mailboxes mated to an extension only. If you have mailboxes for outside people who do not have an extension, you will need to use a different procedure to send callers to the mailbox. Press TRANSFER, dial the voice mail extension (or press the Voice Mail button if you have one programmed), press POUND 6, dial the mailbox number and hang up.
