Call Forwarding Options KX-TA

Call Forwarding is a feature used to forward your phone to another station in your system or in some cases to an external destination.  The feature is most used to set voice Mail as the destination.  There are several types of forwarding available depending on which system you have.  Forwarding options are listed as they are available for each system.  XXX indicates the voice mail extension number you dial to call the voice mail.

Calls go to another extension or voice mail if either your phone is busy or the call is not answered.  This seems to be the most used forwarding to voice mail.  If you are on the phone, callers are transferred to your mailbox.  If you are not on your phone, the phone rings several times and then goes to your mailbox.

Forward to another phone number

This forwards to another telephone number.  NOTE: To call forward to an outside line, each system needs to be programmed to allow the feature.  This is done in system programming Class of Service.  By default, the systems prevent each phone from forwarding to an outside line and there is also a timer that controls the length of the call once it has been transferred to the external number.  See your dealer to have the program set up.
